Reprocessing my M3 data with PixInsight

Still waiting for clear nights – so I decided to learn more about PixInsight. I processed my old data for M3 for better dynamic range between core and outer regions.

Steps:

• Stacking in PixInsight
• DBE
• PhotometricCalibration
• ACDNR for lightness and Chrominance
• HistogramTransformation with STF data
• HDRMultiscaleTransform (8 layers, 2 iterations, 0.34 overdrive, median, to lightness, lightness mask)
• CurvesTransformation for further contrast fine-tuning
• ArcsinhStretch
• ColorSaturation for color fine-tuning
• Deep space noise reduction with Astronomy Tools in Photoshop 2022
