PixInsight - you get what you pay for

Today was another interesting day at the PixInsight forum. I was not aware of the arrogance, with which the PixInsight staff treats paying customers, if they do not agree with their opinion. There is an unacceptable disrespect of customers, if they, e.g. complain about missing tools after updates. I remember a thread where the forum complained about the 'Copy coordinates' tool being deleted. The chief developer told us to use the command line tool, there would be no need for a GUI. Some forum members disagreed, so finally the staff member told us, that only he is correct and we can now 'continue with whatever we are doing here'.

Today there was a forum thread where a customer explained some issue in the stacking process and compared it to the results of ASTAP. The thread was marked with the 'Forum rules' banner, as we must not mention any other tools. As the discussion continued around this rule, the thread was deleted. 'Free speech'?  Not in the PixInsight forum.

No doubt, PixInsight is a great tool. But do not expect to be treated with respect.

BTW: If you click on 'Forgot my password', their Captcha say 'What is the name of the best image processing application?' and if you enter SiriL, the reply is obviously wrong. This says it all.
